bringing ideas, concepts & stories to life.
PPIPPIPRESS was started from our love for books and printed matter, named after a mountain goat on a little mountain in Bergen.
He was a young mountain goat brimming with playful curiousity watching us from a distance with initial apprehensiveness. The sun slowly dipped into the city from where we sat, and it wasn't before long Ppippi decided to approach us with loving nudges. The 3 of us sat and watched the sun completely envelope itself into the far reaches of the water. Years later when we wanted to start PPIPPIPRESS as a home for our creative projects, Jamie remembered about Ppippi (whom we did not name and found his portrait and name at the mountain's notice board by the way) and thought it would be both funny & meaningful for the both of us and we kept to it.
It is the name of the friend we made while slightly tipsy on a mountain while the sun was setting, a symbol of our shared memories, hopes and whatever that lies in between. It is the playful curiosity we hope to embody in our works.

Jamie Png is a Singapore-based photographer and co-founder of PPIPPIPRESS. Her photographic work moves quietly between memory, stillness, and the small emotional weight of ordinary moments, often returning to themes of impermanence and quiet endurance. She finds beauty in things that are easy to overlook, a flower blooming unnoticed, the particular light of a passing season, the feeling of being in love. There is a patience to her practice, an interest in what lingers rather than what announces itself. This sensibility carries through her photobooks Apricity and White Lover, both produced under PPIPPIPRESS with close attention to material and form, from paper choice to ink to binding, treating the book itself as an extension of the work's emotional register. Alongside running PPIPPIPRESS with her partner Bryan Lim, Jamie brings this same instinct for stillness and craft into the press's broader publishing practice, shaping how each title is sequenced, designed, and produced.
